In addition to the weekly Sunday gathering, we scatter across the city as missionaries in small groups called Missional Communities. There are two types of MCs. First, we have groups that are college-specific and meet on or close to campus. These groups are led by students and are strategically geared toward reaching unique slices of OU. The second type of MCs are intergenerational groups where students are connected to couples and families a few chapters ahead in their spiritual walk who can help model life beyond the campus. Find out more info or join a Missional Community today.
Providence Road believes that the college campus is one of the most strategic mission fields in the world. We believe that the fastest way to change the spiritual landscape of the state of Oklahoma and the surrounding region is to make disciples at the University of Oklahoma. Not only does OU account for roughly a quarter of the entire population of Norman but it represents a disproportionate amount of the engineers, teachers and lawyers, etc. that will lead the state of Oklahoma in the future. We believe that training current students in the areas of Gospel, Community and Mission will lead to spiritual fruit, not only on campus, but beyond Norman in the years to come.
We believe it’s important for you to be a part of the local body of Christ. So we encourage you to be a part of the Sunday gathering to worship, learn the glorious truths of gospel of Jesus Christ, and serve the church by serving on a serve team.
We would love to connect you (and your friends!) to a mentoring/discipling relationship with someone of a different life stage. In these smaller groups, a mentor will disciple you into deeper truths of the Bible and help you to make other disciples of Jesus.
