Meet David and Alison Smiley. They – along with their five children – have moved to Suriname to saturate the Saramaccan people group with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have partnered with them to plant churches among this unreached people group. For more information on upcoming short-term trips to Suriname, email Blake Hilgenfeld.
International Church Planting
Global Involvement Locally
We believe that saturating the nations with the gospel starts right here in Norman, OK! Every year, almost 2,000 international students enroll at the University of Oklahoma. The top 5 countries of citizenship are China, India, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Iran. 4 out of these 5 countries are considered unreached with the gospel. And so the good news is, every member in the church has the opportunity to saturate the nations with the gospel in our own backyard. We have partnered with Friends for International Students at the University of Oklahoma. They connect you with an international student studying at OU. Through this program, we host students in our home for meals, take them grocery shopping, and help them learn how to live in our country well. And as we do, we demonstrate and declare the good news of Jesus to those who otherwise may not have had access to the gospel.
