Chris is the Director of Worship and Arts at Providence Road. He married his wife, Kyndra, in the summer of 2016. Chris first met Jesus as a result of an old family friend when he was just five years old. Chris has an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology from OCCC and is currently working on completing his undergraduate studies in Philosophy at OU (Boomer Sooner!). In addition to leading in worship and liturgy, Chris also oversees Providence Road’s art gallery, which participates in Norman’s monthly “Second Friday Art Walk.” Chris and Kyndra share a passion for art and culture, believing that these forms of expression are keys to communicating God’s love through the things that we create. Because of this desire to see artistic expression redeemed for the glory of God, Chris and Kyndra lead a Missional Community that focuses on these same endeavors. Chris loves spending time with his wife, playing music, reading, writing, drinking coffee, and good conversations.
Elder | College | Preaching
Chris leads our college ministry and is part of the preaching team. This summer, the Bristers will be the first church planters sent out from Prov Road to begin a new church in Auburn, AL. He grew up as a pastor’s kid in west Texas and was saved at the age of 6. He made his way back to west Texas to play football at Texas Tech and went on from there to pursue a theology degree at Baylor. He’s been married to his wife, Cara Jane, for 5 years and they have a one-year-old son, Bo. Baby Brister #2 is due in March. Chris whole-heartedly believes in the medicinal value of Dr. Pepper, that the Houston Astros will eventually win a World Series, and that gospel-centered, multi-ethnic, missional churches will save the world.
Erin is married to her high school sweetheart, Matt. They have four amazing kids: Cade, Carter, Cambrie Mae, and Clara. As the Providence Road Kids Director, she oversees all the Sunday events pertaining to children ages birth through 5th grade. Erin’s hope is to see all the kids at Providence Road find freedom and enjoy in Jesus. She enjoys laughing with her crazy kids, going on dates with Matt, spending time with friends, and curling up with a good book after a long day.
