Since the beginning of Providence Road we have prayed and longed that God, in his grace, would give us many years of fruitful ministry in the city of Norman. Providence Road was planted on the foundation of the good news of Jesus Christ found in the Bible. In our short history, God has used Providence Road to heal brokenness, lead people to Jesus, form people into the image of Christ, and plant churches. We believe being in the center of the city for the next 10-20 years will allow us to create a hub where ministry can take place and quickly move out to redeem Norman and the surrounding areas.
Plant the Gospel
Equip the Church
The primary ministry of the church is to glorify God by making disciples that make disciples. One of our convictions is that all of the church is to be equipped for ministry. This permanent space is a great tool that will allow us to do more ministry than we are currently doing in only having access to a space one day of the week. There is the potential for more worship and prayer gatherings, classes, seminars, and conferences in aiming at our goal of making disciples.
Love the City
Providence Road is a missional church. A missional church is one that desires to see not only individual people redeemed, but whole cities and nations redeemed and renewed. When thinking about a city being renewed, location is important. This location puts us in the most dense and diverse part of our city. Our neighbors include non-profits, popular restaurants and shops, city hall, The Norman Transcript, and the University of Oklahoma. This puts us in a strategic location to love and serve the city for many years to come.
Like the rest of our brothers and sisters in Acts 29, our goal is to Drill Deep in our neighborhoods with the transforming power of the gospel, so that we may Reach Wide with the gospel so that the whole world can hear.
