The first vision dinner for Providence Road took place in October of 2010. We then began forming a core team in January of 2011. Our first Missional Communities and All-Church Gathering began in the Spring of 2012.
When did Providence Road Church begin?
What can I expect at a Sunday gathering?
We know that stepping into a new place can be an uncomfortable experience. Sunday mornings at Providence Road are intentionally centered around Jesus, but in a relaxed environment. Our gatherings are much more like a family get-together than a flashy show. We teach through the Bible, pray, sing, take communion together, and share stories about what God has done and is doing in our lives. We believe that you will feel welcome with us and we would love to meet you!
How should I dress?
We are most interested in helping people learn more about Jesus, so we encourage everyone to come dressed in comfortable attire. You’ll find that most people dress casually.
What is a Missional Community?
Missional Communities are extremely important to us. They meet throughout the week in homes of our covenant members so that people can experience life together and live on mission in our city. Our hope is that everyone who attends our church would be involved in a Missional Community. Visit our Missional Community page to find out more information and how to join one near you.
What does it mean that you're an Acts 29 church?
We know the book of Acts ends at chapter 28! Acts 29 is a church-starting network that is devoted to seeing Gospel-centered, missional churches take root in as many places as possible – across the US and the world. The name “Acts 29” reflects the belief that God is still at work today, continuing the building of His church and the expansion of His kingdom, just as He did in the 28 chapters of Acts. Our role is to prayerfully and boldly continue that work.
