A few weeks ago, we had the exciting opportunity to nominate our first ever group of deacons at Providence Road. We preached over the topic of deacons in the sermon as well. We encourage you to go back and listen to the sermon.

We are in a three-week window where the church affirms the calling of the five deacon candidates. We’ve included two links below that, along with the sermon, will help you understand what the Bible teaches about deacons and what deacons do in the church.

One of the best and most accessible resources on deacons is Acts 29 pastor Bob Thune’s theological paper on deacons.
