On Divorce & Remarriage
I mentioned briefly during my sermon on Matthew 5:31-32 this past Sunday that I believe there is an acceptable Biblical spectrum as it relates to marriage and divorce. Because of the limited time in the sermon I didn’t get to go far in describing the opposing ends of thought on the subject. I’ve linked to two articles below that represent both ends of what I believe is Biblical view of these issues.
What I love in particular about these articles is that they are written by two elders, John Piper and Andy Naselli, who are serving at the same church. I love how they go about disagreeing and are charitable about it, which is a great lesson for us in our day and age, in how to disagree.
Note: these are written by pastor/elders, but their content is in the realm of are theological position papers. It isn’t light reading, but they are great, well-written articles on the subject and do a lot of interacting with most, if not all of the relevant Biblical texts.
