The True Lord’s Prayer (John 17:1-5)

John 17 begins the High Priestly Prayer that only Jesus can pray because, as He openly makes known to us in this text, He is God. It is the start of the longest recorded prayer we have of Jesus to the Father in all of the Scriptures. Jesus finally states that his hour has come, signifying that the cross is near.
